Role Description:
As a GEM Academy volunteer, you will engage in a range of activities that directly support our students’ academic and personal development. In return for your invaluable contribution, we provide:
- Comprehensive Training: Receive specialized training to equip you with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively mentor and tutor our students.
- Valuable Experience: Gain hands-on experience in an educational setting, enhancing your resume and developing skills that will benefit you in any career path.
- Presidential Service Award: Eligible volunteers can work towards receiving the prestigious Presidential Service Volunteering Award, recognizing their commitment and impact.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Academic Tutoring: Support students academically, sharing your knowledge and making learning accessible and enjoyable.
- Skill Development Workshops: Lead and facilitate workshops that cultivate critical thinking, leadership, and other essential life skills.
- Personal Mentorship: Act as a big brother or big sister for students, providing advice, motivation, and inspiration on their educational journey.
- Community Initiatives: Participate in and help coordinate community service projects, fostering a spirit of social responsibility and collective growth.
