GEM Academy's  4-week leadership camp trains and inspires 8th-12th graders to be tomorrow’s leaders. This intensive program is tailored to impart leadership skills, foster discussions and debates on contemporary subjects, bolster participants' confidence, and ready them for enduring leadership responsibilities.

Program Schedule

Empowering civic leaders through identity, conviction, and effective public speaking for impactful engagement in modern problem-solving and policymaking.

Week 1: Building Identity & Conviction - Communicty Activism in the Modern Age

● Classes: Monday & Wednesday, 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
● Explore the importance of identity and conviction in leadership.
● Discuss the role of civic engagement in shaping the future.
● Identify personal values and develop a leadership vision.

Week 2: Public Speaking & Leadership Training

● Classes: Monday & Wednesday,  2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
● Learn the fundamentals of effective public speaking.
● Practice techniques to communicate with confidence and clarity.
● Receive feedback and coaching to enhance leadership skills.

Week 3: Congressional Debate - Solutions to Modern Problems

● Classes: Monday & Wednesday,  2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
● Engage in lively debates on current issues facing society.
● Collaborate with peers to develop innovative solutions.
● Refine critical thinking and negotiation skills.

Week 4: Building Power & Influence - Where Do We Go From Here

● Classes: Monday & Wednesday,  2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
● Explore strategies for building influence and effecting change.
● Discuss the responsibilities of leadership in addressing social challenges.
● Create action plans for future leadership endeavors.

Graduation & Social

Capstone projects due on the final day, followed by graduation ceremony, diverse extracurriculars, and dedicated primary instructors.

Last Day of Class: Capstone Projects Due

The Capstone project entails presenting a topic judged by both student peers and designated judges. This competition selects the top 5 students whose presentations will be featured during the graduation ceremony.

Graduation Ceremony:

● Date: 1 week after the last day of class
● Celebrate the achievements of young leaders, their families, and the community.
● Top 5 Capstone Projects will be presented to the entire community.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

Week 1: Chai & Conversation:
Enjoy socializing with delicious drinks and deep discussions.

Week 2: Group Dynamix:
Engage in team-building activities and fun challenges from 6 PM to 11 PM.

Week 3: Shaykhs & Smores:
Connect with Muslim scholars and bond over a bonfire night.

Graduation Ceremony:
A final celebration to commemorate the accomplishments of participants.

Primary Instructors:

Faizan Syed, Lead Instructor: Founder of Inspiring Young Leaders. Former Director ofCAIR-Texas and Missouri. Co-Founder of A Continuous Charity Foundation.
Fatimah Baig: Graduate of Director Syed’s leadership program, an inspiring publicspeaker, and co-author of the leadership experience.
